Kelly Phumzile holds a Masters Degree in EAP with over 15 years work experience in Human Resources (HR), Workplace behavioural Health and Management Sciences specialising in Organisational Culture and Change Management.
Currently employed as Organisational Effectiveness (OE) Senior Manager for Retail Operations in Edcon Group. Hold Directorship positions within theEmployee Assistance Professionals Association (EAPA SA) Board and also holding the Finance Director position. A founding member and Director of KARP Consulting and Projects Pty Ltd.
Kelly Phumzile worked as an Occupational Social Worker, EAP Specialist (Deputy Director), Transformation & Equity Specialist, Head Organisational Development and Harmonisation Executive. Hold extensive Human Resources Development (HRD) experience, including Learning and Development and Organisational Health & Wellness working both in Government and Corporate (Financial Services & Retail). Also served in inter-ministerial committee’s and inter-departmental committee’s (IDC) for government, amongst others, served in the National Employment Equity (EE) consultative forum (Department of Labour), served in EAPA SA Board 2004 – 2009, served as Trustee for Metropolitan Employee Benefits (Board). Kelly is the Former Harmonisation Executive for Metropolitan Health (MH) where he designed and successfully implemented a company-specific Organisational Development (OD) solution, themed Organisational Harmonisation.
As the Harmonisation Executive, Kelly introduced a variety of effective employee engagement business processes and led MH through successful Investors in People (IiP) accreditations(UK Standard). Presented conference papers both locally and internationally (USA) as EAPA SA President in 2007 – 2009 and published articles in the Social Work Journal. Kelly was honoured for leadership and professional excellence at the 15th Annual EAPA Gala Dinner in September 2013 and elected at the AGM to serve in the EAPA SA board for 2013 – 2017.Kelly is also a convenor of the Disciplinary Committee (DC) of the SopranoS Motorcycle Club and Chairperson of the Mamelodi Sundowns Football Club (FC) Kagiso 1 Supporters Branch.
Kelly was the lead MH team member in the merger between Metropolitan & Momentum and the establishment of Metropolitan Heath leadership culture. Hold solid skills in designing, facilitation, reporting and evaluation. Amongst other qualifications, Kelly holds a BA Social Work honours degree, MAP from Wits Business School, Change Management from Harvard and a Diploma in Personnel Management and Training from Damelin.
Kelly is very passionate about integrated transformation, shaping leadership and organisational culture, implementing organisational effectiveness interventions driven through people, leadership and culture change. I’m a results orientated and performance driven individual currently pursuing my PhD with University of Pretoria and also a qualified entrant for the Two Oceans Ultra Marathon and the Comrades Marathon (2014).
